Ports Split Series Against Storm, Travel to Fresno

The Stockton Ports hit the road and took on the Lake Elsinore Storm this past week and split a six game thriller. Great pitching, timely hitting, and stellar defensive plays helped keep the Ports in the game each night. The Ports are looking to continue playing great baseball as they take on the Fresno Grizzlies starting tomorrow, Tuesday, June 18th with first pitch slated for 6:50 PM.

PREVIOUS GAMES AGAINST THE STORM

  • Tuesday, June 11 - The Ports rallied back from an early 4-0 deficit and ultimately took the lead when they had a breakout inning in the 6th scoring 7 runs. The charge was led by Beltran who tallied a 3 hit, 3 RBI night. Nankil also chipped in with a 2 RBI single on a line drive to left. The bullpen held it down with a combined 3 innings of relief out of Adamiak and Anderson in which they notched 6 K's and let the Ports to a 10-4 win.
  • Wednesday, June 12 -  A night after making a 4-0 deficit turn into a 10-4 win, the Storm made it rain runs. They blanked the Ports 19-0. 
  • Thursday, June 13 - The Ports return the favor! Corro throws 5 innings of two hit ball with 2 K’s, and Avant throws 4 innings of 1 hit ball with 5 K’s. The two of them combined for a shutout. Lasko had a 3-hit night, Schofield-Sam collected 4 hits, and Nankil tacked on 2 hits with 2 RBI’s. Ports took game 3 of the series 4-0. 
  • Friday, June 14 - The Storm got out to an early lead and never looked back... Ports scored 2 runs in the 9th and lost the game 5-2. Lasko, Schofield-Sam, Amaya, and Rijo all collected 2 knocks each.
  • Saturday, June 15 - Tur tossed 5 innings, collected 6 K’s, and gave up 1 ER. He collected his first win of the season. Dallas tossed 2 innings, collected 5 K’s and recorded his 3rd save of the year. Salom went 2-2 with a double and knocked in a run. Nankil also collected an RBI with a sac-fly. Ports won 2-1.
  • Sunday, June 16 - The Storm posted 3 in the first inning and ultimately got up to a 7-0 lead before surrendering 2 to the Ports in the 8th. Nankil went 2-4 with an RBI double, and the Ports dropped the series finale 7-2.

The Ports are back on the road as they head down the Central Valley to take on the Fresno Grizzlies (Colorado Rockies Single-A affiliate) this week starting on Tuesday, June 18th through Sunday, June 23rd.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT

Nate Nankil


We are halfway through the year, and Nate is putting up great numbers so far. Through 53 games, Nate has posted a solid .258 batting average alongside an impressive .394 on-base percentage. The right fielder has also been stellar on defense, recording 74 putouts without committing a single error this year.



Nate Nankil is looking to build on his strong performance in the first half and have an even better second half of the year. He has already hit 5 home runs, driven in 37 RBIs, and smashed 13 doubles, showing his ability to contribute both power and consistency at the plate. With these stats, Nate is poised to make a significant impact as the season progresses.

Tyler Soderstrom

As of 6/14…In his last 7 games Tyler is batting .318 with an OBP of .423. In that span he has collected 6 RBI’s and has launched 3 long balls. In the A’s recent series at San Diego, Tyler went 4-10 with 4 RBI’s including 2 home runs off Dylan Cease and reliever De Los Santos.

Max Muncy

The 2021 First Rounder has dealt with a nagging injury but when the SS is in the lineup he gets on base. Through 22 games, Muncy is hitting .274 and has an OBP of .379. He has tallied 6 2B’s, 2 HR’s, and 11 RBI’s.


AA

Daniel Susac

The 2022 First Rounder is batting .260 with an OBP of .294 this year for Midland. Susac has 7 2B’s, 2HR’s, and 15 RBI’s in his 2024 campaign. The 23 year old is looking to have a breakout second half for the RockHounds.

Henry Bolte

Bolte is off and running quite literally… He has collected 23 stolen bags this season for Lansing. Through 56 games, he is batting .293 and has an OBP of .407. The 20 year old does it all… he has 15 2B’s, 5 3B’s, 9 HR’s, and has knocked in 44. Keep an eye out on Bolte this year or you might miss him!
