Ports Hit Wall Against Nuts, Look to Bounce Back Against Giants

The Stockton Ports were overpowered by the Modesto Nuts this past week, eventually getting swept Banner Island Ballpark. Stockton will look to get back on track this week as they'll stay home taking on the San Jose Giants starting tomorrow, Tuesday, June 4th with first pitch slated for 7:05 PM.

PREVIOUS GAMES AGAINST NUTS

Monday May 27: The Ports held the very potent Nuts offense in check on Monday night, but had trouble getting their own offense going in a 2-0 loss to Modesto in a Memorial Day special at Banner Island Ballpark.
Wednesday, May 29 - After the Ports kept the top offense in the California League in check on Monday, the Modesto Nuts broke out for 16 runs on Wednesday night in a 16-1 win over Stockton.
Thursday, May 30 - For the second-straight game, the first-place Modesto Nuts scored 16 runs on 15 hits, this time defeating the Ports 16-4 on Thursday night to take a 3-0 lead in the six-game series.
Friday, May 31 - The Ports (18-29) made it interesting in the late innings against the Modesto Nuts (33-14) on Thursday night, but the reigning champs still won game five 8-4 at Banner Island Ballpark.
Saturday, June 1 - Modesto continued their dominance over the Ports on Saturday night, winning game five 9-3 at Banner Island Ballpark. Modesto got on the scoreboard in the third by taking advantage of Stockton’s decision making on defense.
Sunday, June 2 - The Ports (18-31) made it a one-run game on two occasions against the Nuts (35-14) on Sunday, but Modesto would hang on to escape with a 7-6 win and a sweep of the six-game series.
