Ports Take Series Against Giants with Help from Two Walk Offs, Travel to Lake Elsinore

The Stockton Ports won their third series of the season this past week taking four of six against the San Jose Giants all thanks to clutch pitching, timely offense, and a couple walk-offs. Stockton will look to carry the momentum against the Cal League South first place Lake Elsinore Storm starting tomorrow, Tuesday, June 11th with first pitch slated for 6:05 PM.

PREVIOUS GAMES AGAINST GIANTS

  • Tuesday, June 4: It was a one-run game going into the ninth against the Giants on Tuesday night, before San Jose plated four runs in top of the inning to secure a 10-5 win over the Caballos de Stockton in game one of the six-game series. 
  • Wednesday, June 5 -  The Ports racked up 14 hits against the Giants on Wednesday night, defeating San Jose 10-6 to even up the six-game series at one-game apiece. 
  • Thursday, June 6 - The Ports put together another hit parade against the Giants — this time paired with lights-out pitching to go along with their 10 hits — for a 3-0 win over San Jose to take a 2-1 lead in the six-game series.
  • Friday, June 7 - The Ports won another highly-contested, well-pitched ballgame on Friday night, this time in walk-off fashion 3-2 over the Giants to take a 3-1 lead in the series. 
  • Saturday, June 8 -  The Giants took game five by a score of 7-1 on Saturday night, setting up a series-deciding showdown on Sunday. 
  • Sunday, June 9The Ports won on a literal walk off in the 12th inning on Sunday afternoon, with Ryan Lasko drawing a bases-loaded, full-count walk for a 5-4 win and a series victory over the Giants. 

SERIES PREVIEW vs. LAKE ELSINORE STORM

The Ports travel on the road this week and head down south beginning their first 12-game road trip of the season to take on the Lake Elsinore Storm (San Diego Padres Single-A affiliate) this week starting on Tuesday, June 11th through Sunday, June 16th.
