PORTS DROP SERIES AGAINST 66ERS

The Ports suffered a series loss against the Inland Empire 66ers grabbing only one-game down at San Manuel Stadium in Friday's 10-4 win. Stockton had leads going into the seventh inning in three of the five losses but found themselves on the wrong end after faltering late, including a 5-4 walk-off loss Saturday night in San Bernardino.

PREVIOUS GAMES AGAINST INLAND EMPIRE

Tuesday, June 6 - Stockton Ports starting pitcher Jose Dicochea had an uncharacteristically wild night on Tuesday against the Inland Empire 66ers, issuing a season-high six walks in a 5-3 loss in game one of the six-game series.
Wednesday, June 7 -The Stockton Ports scored seven runs on Wednesday night, but let a 7-2 lead slip away at Inland Empire, as the 66ers came back to win 10-7 in game two of the six-game series.
Thursday, June 8 - The Stockton Ports were out hit 12-4 in game three against Inland Empire, falling 8-1 at San Manuel Stadium.
Friday, June 9 - The Stockton Ports offense erupted for six runs in the sixth inning on Friday night for a 10-4 win over Inland Empire in game four of the six game series.
Saturday, June 10 - A ninth-inning, four-run rally for the Inland Empire 66ers gave them a comeback win over the Ports on Saturday night, in a 5-4 loss for Stockton in game five of the series.
Sunday, June 11 - Another late inning rally sinks the Ports in the series final at Inland Empire as the 66ers score five runs in the eighth inning to win 6-2 on Sunday evening.

TOP PERFORMERS

Henry Bolte: Bolte's recent success carried on in Inland Empire this past week going 7-22, including another home run(4) and two more RBI, good for second on the team (31).
Colby Thomas: Thomas led the team this past week in average with a .346 (9-26) that included a home run and five RBI giving him 33 on the season and first on the Ports.
Dheygler Gimenez / Wander Guante - Gimenez and Guante both show cased yet another strong outing as Gimenez went six innings Saturday night allowing just one run and punching out six while Guante, who's coming off the Cal League Pitcher of the Week Award, proved yet another strong outing going seven innings for his second straight start while striking out six and allowing just one run.

The Ports continue their lone 12-Game road trip of the season, this time in Lake Elsinore to take on the Storm (San Diego Padres Single-A affiliate) this week starting Tuesday, June 13th through Sunday, June 18th.

Following their six-game set against the Storm, the Ports come back to Banner Island where they'll begin their first 12-game homestand of the season to take on the stay on the San Jose Giants for the second time in Stockton.

Against Lake Elsinore Storm

This will be the first matchup of the season between the Ports and the Storm. The Storm have the edge over Stockton going 11-7 against the Ports since the start of the 2021 season, including a series win over the Ports at The Diamond last season grabbing five of six games.

One,Two Punch: Blaze Pontes and Pedro Santos have been a highlight out of the Ports bullpen for majority of the season, especially as of late. During the last 30 days, the two have combined for a 0.90 ERA with Santos boasting a perfect 0.00 in his last six games pitched (8 IP, 4 H, 15 SO) and Pontes a dazzling 1.50 ERA (12 IP, 2 R, 16 SO).
Colby Thomas: Thomas has seen a strong start in June, working a .310 average with two home runs and nine RBI. His 33 RBI are good for ninth in the Cal League and has seen his average jump almost 20 points in June.
Brennan Milone: Milone continues to be an on-base machine as the former Oregon Duck has worked more walks than he has struck out, compiling 34 walks, a team high, and just 31 strikeouts.
Wander Guante: Guante has had a strong two week performance allowing just one run in his 14 innings pitched with 11 strikeouts and dropping his ERA more than two full points during that time (8.35 to 6.02).
Dheygler Gimenez: Gimenez has allowed one run in each of his last three starts, dropping his ERA by almost a full point during that span while also striking out at least six to along with it.
